The Namutoni Restcamp is at the eastern entrance of the Etosha Nationalpark. During the 19th Century the imperial "Schutztruppe" use it as their German Fort. As from as early as the 1950's tourists spent their nights at the rebuilt Fort, that was modernized during 2008. As a reminder of the military history, the song is played on a horn every time the flag is raised. The top of the watch tower is a favoured, place to take photographs. The waterhole is situated directly next to the camp and is lit at the night, this allows one to observe the drinking animals around the clock. Type of Accommodation:
