The horn at the entrance of the Halali Restcamp used to announce the start of hunting season, today it rather stands for the ultimate end of hunting age in Etosha. In fact "Halali" is an the old hunting call used by the German hunterers and the old, white watchtower still reminds of the former "Schutztruppe"- headquarter of the colonial era. The camp is situated between Okaukeujo and Namutoni. Like the other two camps, it has undergone a complete renovation in 2008. Some of the most frequented waterholes with lots of different game are at Halali Camp - visitors can sit on benches like in a theatre, relax and watch the animals drink.
