Mt. Etjo Lodge. Photo: Bob MuirheadWho can leave behind the dark continent without at least having experienced Africa's wildlife? With Mount Etjo Game Lodge we've traced a special place for you 180 km northwest of Windhoek in one of the most scenic parts of Namibia so that you can come into close contact with nature. You will encounter hippos, elephants, giraffes, lions and numerous antelopes. Gameviewing is conducted from open safari vehicles and on foot, accompanied by experienced guides.

Day 1    Windhoek/ Mt. Etjo

Be picked up from your hotel in Windhoek after breakfast and arrive in the early afternoon at Mount Etjo. The Main Lodge area also has a garden area overlooking a waterhole so you can sit and watch the wildlife at any time of the day. After dinner watch lion feeding. Overnight in Mt. Etjo Lodge.

Day 2    Mount Etjo

lioness in Mt. EtjoLeave for a game drive after breakfast around 7.30 h. If you would rather sleep out you may also join the safari truck later in the afternoon at 15.00 h. A guided trail to the 230 million old dinosaur tracks nearby is also highly rewarding! Breakfast and Dinner included. Overnight at Mount Etjo Lodge.

Day 3    Mount Etjo/Windhoek

Depart after breakfast towards Windhoek and stop by in Okahandja for the African flea market. It is the largest and probably best curio market of it's kind in Namibia offering wood carvings - like salad servers, wooden giraffes (some 2 metres high), carved chairs, hand woven bowls or jewelry from semi-precious stones. The former mission station of Gross Barmen could be another stop over on the way: Taking a bath in the mineral springs of this place is quite relaxing! Arrive in Windhoek at the early evening.
