The Dornhügel Guest Farm, 42 kms east of Grootfontein, is ideally situated on the way to Northern Namibia, the Etosha Pan, the Hoba Meteorite and many other distinctly different places are within easy reach. You won't want to miss any of them. At the farm, the owners, Irmgard and Gerhard (Max) Beyer, will tell you how they grow their cops in such a dry, hostile environment. In addition to growing sun flowers, cotton, maize (corn), sorghum and hay for their cattle, they also raise Basotho-ponies, a horse known for being sure-footed, sturdy and patient.
Meals are served either in the restaurant or just open-air featuring vegetables from the Dornhügel garden, home-made bread and tasty cakes from Irmgard Beyer's oven. As you would expect, the meat and game served also comes from the Irmgard and Gerhard's farm. Further activities on Dornhügel Guest farm
