While descending Hosea Kutako Airport, Windhoek, one can see the bushes from a bird's eye view sticking out at random like the uncombed hair of an African child. Namibia's only International airport is situated admidst the savannah, 50km's east of the capital, Windhoek. A tarred road leads you through a world of wide and open spaces directly into the capital.
You will be spoiled for choice when searching for accommodation. Namibia has a variety of luxurious guesthouses, lodges and world-class hotels as well as holiday houses for self-catering. Should you want to experience African nature and wilderness right at the beginning, you could spend your first night at a bungalow a few kilometres from the Daan Viljoen Park. The chalets of Lake Oanob Resort, near Rehoboth (90 km's south of Windhoek) will offer you comfort, rest and peaceful setting to begin your Namibian trip.
Your travels from Windhoek will lead you into Central Namibia through the Waterberg Plateau Park, Swakopmund at the Coast, where you may visit the Seal colony, enjoy the taste of fresh oysters and even find Chameleons in the Namib desert. In Omaruru, the Rhinos might even let you touch them. Just send us an e-mail with your ideas where and how you would like to spend your holidays in Namibia and we compile an itinerary that suits your wishes.
