15 days-trip from Caprivi to Central Namibia

The tour presents the geographical contrast like the dry half desert in Central Namibia to the lush vegetation in the North of the country – the Caprivi. During your visits to villages and townships, you will develop an insight into Namibian family life .Your children can also mix with Namibian children to learn how they play and get along.To keep the drives as short as possible, the tour begins with a flight from Windhoek to Katima Mulilo in the North. In the second part of the trip, you will see  Etosha National Park in Namibia’s savannah and a traditional Himba-Village. First class accommodation guarantees highest comfort for parents and children.

Day 1  Windhoek

Kinder in NamibiaArrive at Windhoek International Hosea Katako Airport, Windhoek and welcomed by your Guide, travel to Villa Verdi where you will stay for the next 2 nights.  Breakfast only included.  Dinner at Villa Verdi on your own account.
 
Day 2   Windhoek 

On this day you will  visit the relatives of Floyd, on of our guides, living in Katutura, and enjoy a barbeque.  The children will enjoy since there are children to play with.   There you will experience the everyday life style of people living in the townships.  Overnight Villa Verdi

Day 3    Katima Mulilo

Elephant crosses riverDepart at early morning from Eros Airport to Katima Mulilo with a scheduled flight and arrive in about 2 hours at Katima Mulilo.  You will then go to (NOTE: Don’t understand where Zembezi Lodge fits in so I deleted it) the Ichingo Chobe River Lodge.  Arrive 2 hours later and overnight.  Fully inclusive of accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, local beers, house wines, return boat transfers between Kasane Immigration (Chobe River) and Ichingo Lodge. All activities such as fishing and game viewing by boat, guided walks on the island, mokoro trips, birding, NTB levies, park fees, fishing licenses, etc. are included.

Day 4 and 5     Chobe

Overnight in a Chalet of Ichingo Chobe River Lodge in a luxury Double Suite.  You may book direct trips to Vic Falls at the lodge.


Day 6         Windhoek

Depart from Ichingo River Lodge at 10.00 in the morning to be on time for your scheduled flight, which leaves at 16.00 h and lands at 18.40 h at Eros Airport where your tour guide will meet you.  Overnight Windhoek Country Hotel.  Breakfast only included.  Dinner at your own cost.  Your tour guide will pick you up and take to African restaurant if you wish.  

 
Day 7        Mount Etjo

Giraffen Mt. EtjoYour tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Windhoek and drive you  to Mt. Etjo Lodge by the early afternoon. Mt. Etjo is situated in the Game Sanctuary - some animals like Hippo, Nyala and Porcupines visit the camp on a regular basis. From a patio situated on the edge of the waterhole, you may observe animals quenching their thirst while enjoying a drink at the Bar, Pool and Patio area.Also included: Feeding of lions. Dinner includes. Overnight in Mt. Etjo Lodge.
Day 8.  After breakfast leave for a 3-hours-game drive in an open pick up. If you prefer to sleep longer, you may also do the game drive in the afternoon. Another option is a guided walking trail to the dinosaurus-tracks nearby – dating back 230 million years. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in Mt. Etjo.

Day 9      Etosha (Okaukeujo)

Wasserhole in EtoshaProceed from Mt. Etjo to Etosha National Park and overnight at Halalai. There is a floodlit waterhole and at times there are herds of elephants coming for drinking and bathing. In the evening you may also be lucky and see Rhinos and lions. Breakfast and dinner will be prepared by your tour guide – maybe the children want to help - it makes fun to prepare African food by open fire....


Day 10      Kamanjab

Zu Gast in einem HimbadorfEarly morning departure to Kamanjab to visit a village of the Ovahimba people. Try a natural sunscreen out of butterfat and red oxides, produced by the Ovahimba or taste their sour milk. Here the children do have the opportunities to mix with Himba children. Then return to Okaukeujo for another late afternoon game drive... Tonight you may have dinner in a restaurant or once more over the open fire.
Overnight in Rest Camp Bungalows.

Day 11 and 12     Kunene

We suggest you go further north as this is a very nice area and extremely beautiful landscape.Overnight Kunene river lodge.Breakfast included.  Dinner at own cost. (Your tour guide knows a Himba family that stays close in village and close to this lodge where they will visit again)

Day 13   Etosha (Mokuti Lodge)

After breakfast proceed to Etosha and arrive at Mokuti Lodge – one of the most excellent addresses in terms of comfort and luxury. There are lots of animals to watch –giraffes peacefully wander and graze between the bungalows. Breakfast included. Lunch and dinner at own cost in the restaurant. Overnight in Mokuti Lodge.

Day 14     Omaruru

Nashörner OmaruruEarly morning departure to Omaruru and visit of winery before leaving for Omaruru game lodge. From a bench you can watch the comings and goings of giraffes, elephants, antelopes and many other animals. You will sit on the safe side behind a small wall of stones. Have a dinner either in a restaurant or prepared by the tour guide. Dinner and breakfast included. Overnight at Omaruru Game Lodge.

Day 15     Windhoek

After breakfast depart for International airport Windhoek.
